Using timing events, onload, reload and globalAlpha - Jeanine Meyer
HTML5 JavaScript provides a way to adjust the degree of transparency of an image drawn on a canvas element. Standard JavaScript provides functions for timed events as well as a mechanism for forcing the reloading of a web page. In this article, I utilize these features to produce an application that shows a sequence of photographs fading in and out, with the whole cycle repeated after a set amount of time, with the feature to stop the fading in and out, at least temporarily before the whole cycle repeats.

D3 is a highly popular library for creating interactive graphs and visualizations. It provides a wealth of functionality from basic constructs to sophisticated layouts that create entire visualizations with just a few lines of code. This article gives an introduction to the ideas behind D3, how to use it to create content, and where to find additional resources and help. After a simple example to introduce the core functionality, we take a brief look at creating more sophisticated graphs.
